My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience1:2-3
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him1:5
Blessed is the man who endures temptation1:12
God cannot be tempted by evil, or does He Himself tempt anyone1:13
Each one is tempted when he I drawn away by his own desires and enticed1:14
When desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death1:15
The wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God1:20
Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves1:22
If any one among you thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, that one’s religion is useless1:26
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this, to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world1:27
My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality2:1
If you show partiality, you commit sin and convicted by the law as transgressors2:9
Whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all2:10
Thus, also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead2:17
You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe – and tremble!2:19
Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the alter?2:21
Faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?2:22
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also2:26
My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment3:1
For we all stumble in many things. If any one does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body3:2
Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships; although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder whenever the pilot desires3:3-4
The tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles3:5
The tongue is a fire3:6
No man can tame the tongue, it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison3:8
Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing3:10
Where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing will be there3:16
Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whover therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God4:4
God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble4:6
Therefore, submit to God, Resist the devil and he will flee from you4:7
Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up4:10
Do not speak evil of one another, brethren4:11
Who are you to judge another4:12
You do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away4:14
You ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that4:15
Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin4:17
Indeed, the wages of the labours who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth5:4
You also be patient, establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand5:8
Do not swear, either by heaven, or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “Yes” be “Yes” and your “No” “No” let you fall into judgment5:12
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any one cheerful? Let his sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let his call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord5:13
The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up5:15
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much5:16
Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months5:17
Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and covers a multitude of sins5:19
